Canada is home to a quarter of the world's boreal forests!

Described as the bird nursery of North America, the boreal forest provides essential breeding habitat for over 350 species of birds. The region is also home to aboriginal peoples and cultural resources.

With our forest berries, we are committed to supporting the efforts of many to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and to counter the destruction of forests caused by industrialization.

The flora is full of benefits: plants absorb and store greenhouse gases, vegetation helps prevent floodwaters from reaching homes, and trees provide shade and lower ambient temperatures in summer. All this vegetation forms a balanced ecosystem where flora and fauna cohabit.

Forests face two major threats: global warming and increasing industrialization.

As with all our 50g formats, 1% of sales of our Forest Berries will be donated to a member of 1% for the Planet. We've chosen to partner with SNAP, an organization working to create a network of protected areas across Quebec, to ensure the long-term protection of the boreal forest, the Far North, the St. Lawrence and the ecosystems that shelter our threatened species. It also ensures the proper management of existing protected areas.
